  4. MATH1025 Introduction to Mathematics and Statistics
  5. PHYS1005 Introduction to Green Energy

Q2: Do I need to add/drop the Science courses by myself?
A2:

All students of Bachelor of Science programme are pre-assigned to take the 6 Science courses in Year 1 of studies. Students will be assigned to either Group A or Group B in Semester 1 and Semester 2. Students can add/drop the pre-assigned Science courses according to your preferences (except SCIE1005 Integrated Science Laboratory) during the course add/drop period in BUniPort by yourselves.

For "SCIE1005 Integrated Science Laboratory", you should obtain course instructor's approval using the form "Application for Adding a Course" (REG001) (via the Online Form system in BUniPort) if you prefer to add the course, or approach the course instructor if you prefer to drop the course during the course add/drop period.

Q3: Are there any special arrangement I need to know if I drop COMP1005 Essence of Computing or MATH1025 Introduction to Mathematics and Statistics?
A3:

If you drop COMP1005 Essence of Computing in Year 1 and study BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Statistics in Year 2, you will need to take this course after being admitted to the programme in order to fulfill the graduation requirements.

If you drop MATH1025 Introduction to Mathematics and Statistics in Year 1 and study BSc (Hons) in Chemistry or BSc (Hons) in Computer Science in Year 2, you will need to take this course after being admitted to the programme in order to fulfill the graduation requirements.

Q4: If I am pre-assigned to take SCIE1005 Integrated Science Laboratory in semester 1, can I drop it and take it in semester 2?
A4:

You can approach the course instructor if you prefer to drop the course during the course add/drop period. Students who drop the course in semester 1 will not be guaranteed if you can take it back in semester 2 due to quota.

Q5: Can I change the section of the pre-assigned Science courses?
A5:

You can change the section of the pre-assigned Science courses during course add/drop period via BUniPort by yourself (except SCIE1005 Integrated Science Laboratory) if course quota is available.

For "SCIE1005 Integrated Science Laboratory", you are allowed to change the pre-assigned section in a semester during the course add/drop period. You should obtain course instructor's approval using the form "Application for Adding a Course" (REG001) (via the Online Form system in BUniPort). Successful approval of student’s selected section is subject to reason(s) for the change and quota.

Q7: If I drop a Science course in semester 1, can I take it in semester 2?
A7:

Whether you can take the course in semester 2 or not will be subject to course quota and you will not be guaranteed to take it in semester 2.

Q8: What if I drop a Science course by mistake?
A8:

You can add the course during the course add/drop period via BUniPort by yourself provided that course quota is available. For "SCIE1005 Integrated Science Laboratory", you should obtain course instructor's approval using the form "Application for Adding a Course" (REG001) (via the Online Form system in BUniPort) if you prefer to add the course.

B. Apply for Transfer of Units for Year 1 Science Courses

Q9: Can I apply for transfer of units for Year 1 Science courses if I have studied relevant courses before?
